Mary Lennox was unhoped for born from her family. After she was born, anyone cared her and be interested about her. She always spend a day alone. Because of the environment, her character became selfish and nasty temper. After her family all died because of cholera, she was send to her uncle's house. The uncle Mr. Craven is very strange person and he seldom see people. However, there are many people who care Mary and talk friendly with Mary such as Martha who is maid in the house and gardener Ben. This is a first time for Mary to be treated in that way. Living in the house will warm her cold heart and change her bad character.

Level for me: easy
When I started to read the book, I was sorry for Mary's bad circumstance. She is selfish and nasty temper, but these are because she don't know how to communicate with people. Her first friends maid Martha and gardener Ben understand her and communicate with her kindly. The story is about Mary's mental growth. This is a very heart worming story and I like it. Vocablaries are not so difficult and story is easy to read, so if you have a time please read it.
